The title of Dr. Reno’s address to the attendees is “Catholicism: pro-Jewish but anti-Israel?” This talk will discuss the remarkable shift in Catholic theology toward an affirmation of Jewish religious life.

Please join us for a festive Friday evening Shabbat service at which Cantor Shiree Kidron will be accompanied by a pianist Dror Baitel, followed by a Kosher buffet-style Shabbat dinner. Guest Speaker Dr. Rusty Reno. Rusty Reno is the editor of First Things, a monthly magazine of religion, culture, and public. He holds a PhD. in religious studies from Yale University.

The title of Dr. Reno’s address to the attendees is “Catholicism: pro-Jewish but anti-Israel?” This talk will discuss the remarkable shift in Catholic theology toward an affirmation of Jewish religious life. At the same time, social and political realities in the Catholic Church push toward anti-Zionism. “This combination,” maintains Dr. Reno, “is paradoxical, but explainable, and in flux.” He will speculate on the future for Catholic-Jewish relations. A Q & A will be part of the evening program, in a relaxed setting over wine and a delicious meal.

The Kosher menu includes a selection of hot appetizers, a buffet of four salads (Caesar, Israeli, Mixed Greens and Israel Mezze), four hot main course choices (Honey Mustard Salmon, Grilled Mediterranean Chicken, Mini Meatballs and Vegetarian Eggplant Mussaka), Basmati Rice and Roasted Potatoes and a Dessert Buffet.

Registration deadline has been extended through the end of the day on Wednesday, Oct 24th We will not be accepting walk-ins as we cannot process payment on Shabbat. Order your tickets today - Space is limited.
